Tat on my ribs like—
I do not know what permanent is.
The artist behind each of these tracks has stolen my dream of Drake tattooing their likeness onto his body—as each have achieved a level of talent or fame worthy of him abandoning the will of his Jewish God to homage.
Sade’s otherworldliness has earned her not one but two placements on Drake’s physical being—given her beauty and the influence of her sensual sound on tracks such as “I Couldn’t Love You More”.
Drake commemorated his love for his (now-former) flame Rihanna by tattooing an image of her eating ice cream onto his right bicep. Maybe not the best decision he’s made, given their eventual split. (Bonus fun fact: Rihanna and Drake have matching camouflage shark tattoos 💚🦈💛).
The Beatles placement on Drake’s forearm, however, is less of an homage as it is a boast. Drake celebrated breaking the group’s Billboard chart record for the most songs simultaneously in the Hot 100’s Top 10 in 2019 by getting a tattoo of himself standing in front of the band on Abbey Road. But alas, Drake pen game has nothing on songs such as “Something”… so who’s really winning?
