The power of an artist is to feel the ailments of society and diagnose it before we even realize what’s going on. With all that’s going on in the world, Su Lee is the sonic physician we all need right now. Her song “I’ll Just Dance” was a viral hit on YouTube partly because of her dancing in her bedroom studio, but also because she was able to put to words the vibes of this crazy year and make us feel okay with it for once.

None of us could have planned for what’s happened, but sometimes the best plan is no plan. Celebrate the ancient art of doing nothing and dance! “I’m a Little Sad Tonight” is another example of allowing us to vibe with how we’re feeling; that it’s perfectly okay to be sad and just sit with it for a bit. At least for a few minutes. Finally, her new EP (The Rough) dropped with “Shining” as her first-ever song written in Korean. If you can understand the Korean lyrics (or read them from her YouTube description), maybe you will also feel what I felt for the first time ever listening to music: wanting to sing the lyrics right back at the lyricist.

If you vibe with any of her stuff, drop her a follow on GRUM
