No Limit

So much bass

Here’s my story of yesterday

tm told me about the no limit reunion tour at the Daughters of the American Revolution concert hall, so I’m naturally down just because rap in that building is super silly. I didnt look up anything about the group and little did I know that this was the most hood rap I can think of. Just so much bass. Unimaginable bass. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say this, I heard the music from 2 blocks away.

So I roll in and I’m just instantly both super confused and the only white person in the entire building. There’s an outer hallway surrounding the inner concert venue and this hallway is just packed. Huge lines of people everywhere. Turns out there’s multiple bars running in this hallway and there’s a roughly 50 person line at each one. Needless to say I am in fairly exceptional circumstances and am feeling fairly odd here.

So I go into the inner venue and it’s just 95 percent weed smoke. You can hardly see the stage from the back of the venue. Now I’m starting to dig it. There are like 5 guys on stage accompanied by cardboard cutouts of a ice cream truck and a tank. One is DJing, two have microphones, and 2 have huge handles of liquor pouring them into cups of the patrons in the front row. They play a song which involves one of the rappers pausing the music to light a blunt and rip off it for 30 seconds.

I’m giggling like crazy because the bass is so ungodly loud which I find both funny and filthy (in a good way). Then we hit a pause and a new group of a handful of guys comes out and introduces themselves and their Instagrams and then continues roughly the same musical pattern.

I chill for an hour and then bail because I figure this is literally just a southern rap block party that will go in for hours and my ears are starting to hurt.
